- All men are created equal, they are created with certain rights that cannot be taken away. Among those are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Governments are created to protect these rights, and the governments get their powers from the people the govern. When and if a government destroys or takes away any of those rights, the people have the right to get rid of that government and create a new one, that they feel will better protect their rights and happiness.
