Does The Constitution when it gurantees the pursuit of happines condone Same Sex Marriage or just the pursuit?
of it? That's kind of mean, don't you think?

- I guess DOMA contradicts that. Someone should make a supreme court case out of how DOMA defies Constitutional rights.
- I'm sorry, you're question made me laugh and I know its not funny... But....I guess it means you can be happy as long as you're not gay.
- There is also that tricky "all men are created equal" bit....
- The U.S. Constitution doesn't say anything at all about marriage, hetero or same-sex. The power to regulate marriage was specifically left up to the individual states. That's why I'm sure the Defense of Marriage Act, passed in 1996, will eventually be declared unconstitutional.
- The Constitution? What's that? I thought the Bible ruled this country. I'm confused.
- I guess what it means these days is that you're free to "pursue" happiness all you want. It just doesn't mean that you'll ever get it...
