Does The Constitution when it gurantees the pursuit of happines condone Same Sex Marriage or just the pursuit?

of it? That's kind of mean, don't you think?

  1. I guess DOMA contradicts that. Someone should make a supreme court case out of how DOMA defies Constitutional rights.
  2. I'm sorry, you're question made me laugh and I know its not funny... But....I guess it means you can be happy as long as you're not gay.
  3. There is also that tricky "all men are created equal" bit....
  4. The U.S. Constitution doesn't say anything at all about marriage, hetero or same-sex. The power to regulate marriage was specifically left up to the individual states. That's why I'm sure the Defense of Marriage Act, passed in 1996, will eventually be declared unconstitutional.
  5. The Constitution? What's that? I thought the Bible ruled this country. I'm confused.
  6. I guess what it means these days is that you're free to "pursue" happiness all you want. It just doesn't mean that you'll ever get it...
