Any idea how I can find a doc like this locally (like a site that lists primary care doctors who are more focused on diet and nutrition?) Thanks. For the answer of, "Sometimes you really need to cure what ails you with a pill"... That's the medical attitude I'm actually trying to avoid. What I want to find is, "a pill should be the last resort for what ails you."
High paying jobs in diet and nutrition or physical activity areas? I really love the diet and nutrition fields and physical activity and really think it would be cool to get a job in that area someday. This is an athlete who is unable to push himself away from table and has all sorts of injuries all related to being overweight. What is he going to teach children? What diet and nutrition internet service will evaluate my calorie intake for free? I am successfully losing weight (18 pounds since mid- January!) by changing my eating habits, slowly, step-by-step, creating a healthier lifestyle. And though I'm not counting calories (and don't plan too!!), I would like to get an idea of my current calorie intake. I'm thinking that if I could find a service that would periodically accept a record of my food intake (maybe for a solid week each month or something), and evaluate it both for calorie intake and nutritional value, it would help. What is an effective way to diet? Portion control or nutrition? I noticed many of my women friends use portion control. Their meals aren't the most nutritious or low in calories and fat. They eat like birds. Throwing more than half of it away or taking it home for later. I eat the right combination of healthy foods, but a lot of it, to satisfy my appetite. I am on the core plan with WW. We can eat as much as we want as long as it is core foods. (Within reason), and an allowance of non-core foods per week if it is needed. I have a big appetite and I don't like to starve myself. But, it will probably take longer. I feel like I am the only one that eats this way. Does anyone else? Or, do you eat a little of the bad foods like a bird?
How long is a safe time to be on the Cambridge Diet as a sole source of nutrition? A friend of mine has been on the Cambridge Diet contineuosly for 92 days. She is taking in 440 calories a day using the Cambridge Diet milkshakes/soups/other powder-based food. I have looked on the Cambridge diet website, and it recommends no longer than 4 weeks. I am concerned that she is making herself ill. She is very emotional. I have not experience of this diet and would appreciate anyone's help with this.

Rice cakes and a balanced diet - no nutrition ? I have always viewed rice cakes as a healthy snack , i'd dip them in to pudding, or have them as a side with my oatmeal.. but i noticed theres really nothing in them to make them healthy, would my calorie maintance diet be better off without it ?

Too much nutrition info online! How to pick the right diet? I need to go on a diet, not to lose weight, but to get over a lot of health symptoms I've been having. I went to the doctor to be tested for food allergies, and although nothing came back positive, I don't tolerate milk or wheat very well. Also, I've had a candida infection which makes me think I might have candida albicans overgrowth. After searching for the right type of diet on the web, I'm more confused than ever and have no idea what foods will give me the best health without leaving me starving. I'm in Europe and it's hard finding a good natural health practitioner. Does anyone have any other ideas? Ok, let me just emphasize three things again bc I got the feeling my question wasn't read very carefully: 1. I am not trying to lose weight, period, and in Europe, slim-fast doesn't exist anyway. 2. I can't eat wheat or other grains because they upset my stomach, hence the US food pyriamid is out of the picture. 3. I have been searching the web and it just leaves me more confused. Diet and nutrition importance speech? I have to make a one minute speech on any topic, the topic i chose was the importance of proper nutrition. Can you give me some points and some stuff to say to make it a good presentation? I am leaning toward like: What would happen if you dont get correct amounts? why you should get correct amounts what food to get correct amounts. How does one get proper nutrition if they decide on a vegetarian diet? I don't eat a lot of meat anyhow, but I would like to know if I stop eating meat for about a month what else should I do to supplement my diet? I will be volunteering in Central America for a month and would like to stick with the staples save the meat. I will have no choice of what I am eating other than if I would like a vegetarian diet or not.
